Safety Valet Program

The safety of your child is very important to all of us. Our Safety Valet Program will resume on the first day of school. We ask parents and care givers to review and follow the safety measures outlined below:

 

  1. Designate a pick-up area for your child. Children are NOT PERMITTED to be picked up or dropped off in the staff parking lot, or in front of the school in the bus zone on Mayall Street.
  2. When you drop off your child, get in the coned lane on Romar St. at the double gates, remain in your car, pull up all the way to the front, have your child exit your vehicle as quickly as possible, and then leave. When you stop and watch your child entering the school, you hold up everyone else.
  3. Please do not park on Mayall St. during Drop-Off hours.
  4. Please use the cross walk on Mayall St. if you parked across from the main entrance.
  5. No U-turns are permitted. Not only this holds up the traffic, it is dangerous to the drivers on the opposite side of the traffic.
  6. No double parking is allowed on any streets near the school.
  7. Do not park in the staff parking lot. The car will be towed away at owner’s expense.
  8. Do not encourage your child to run across the street or drop them off in the middle of the street on any of the surrounding school streets.
  9. Do not park in front of your neighbor’s driveways. Do not honk. Do not move their trash cans to park your car. There were incidents where their trash cans were not picked up because they were moved by some parents. Please respect our neighbors.
  10. Please observe and follow the parking rules posted by the City of Los Angeles and avoid getting a parking ticket.
  11. SLOW DOWN! The speed limit in the school zone is 25 mph.
  12. Be respectful, be patient, and be kind to other drivers and valet volunteers.

 

We all know how busy traffic gets before school starts. Please avoid the rush by planning ahead the night before, leave early in the morning, allow plenty of time to park safely, and walk to campus. Even if you are late…OBSERVE THE RULES! Once again, the safety of our children is of utmost importance – please drive responsibly!
